From the history of methodology formation and development of studying natural science in primary school (period of formation till 1991)
The article deals with the problem of historical development of the methodology of studying natural science in primary school. The historical and pedagogical analysis of the development of the methodology of
teaching natural science from the time of formation to independence of the Ukrainian state has been carried
out. The work of famous scientists (O. Zuyev, O. Gerd, S. Rusov, S. Tysarevsky, O. Sukhomlynsky, L. Narochna), who worked on the formation and development of teaching methods of natural science has been researched. On the basis of the analysis of the works of well-known scholars, the author detaches and grounds the basic principles (regional studies, local lore studies), methods (biological, observation, research,
laboratory, brigade, integrated),forms (outdoor lessons, lessons in acro-matic (outline) and European-level
(question-responsible) forms, excursions) and facilities (natural living and inanimate objects of nature,
geographic maps, atlases, drawings, paintings, manuals, etc.) of the study of natural science in the period of its formation. The methodical recommendations of that time scholars on the methodology of the formation of natural science concepts of primary schoolchildren have been analyzed.
