The psychological features of self-esteem in the student’s age
Abstract
The psychological characteristics of self-esteem of students are analyzed in the article. By
including self-esteem in the structure of activity motivation, the personality always correlate his
capabilities, mental resources with the objectives and means of action. According to the usual integral
human perception of the unity of the senses, mind and will, the expression of sеlf-esteem will be
represented by emotional, cognitive and volitional forms. The author examines the role of self-esteem in activity of boys and girls during student life and determine the levels of self-esteem of students. The
author emphasizes that self-esteem is one of the forms of self-consciousness manifestations, an estimated
component of «self-concept», affective evaluation of the idea of the individual himself, which can have
varying intensity as the specific features of the «I-image» can cause more or less strong emotions,
related to their acceptance or condemnation.
