Political environment as a sphere of political socialization of a personality

Abstract

Рolitical socialization of a personality takes place in a specific political environment. Therefore,
its successful deployment depends primarily on the effectiveness and efficiency of the mechanisms of
functioning of such environment. However, we must bear in mind that the types of political socialization
largely dependent on existing political regimes. In particular, democratic type of political consciousness
is formed on the principles of individual freedom, political tolerance, trust in citizens, law-abiding and
support of democratic institutions. Given the democratic convictions, human being chooses its own
political position and tries to realize their political interests. Author draws attention to the persistent
orientations of people on appropriate ways of interacting with government in society, which are
ombined with numerous models of political behavior, values and norms that are set by different groups,
associations of citizens and associations, which in turn affects the vertical and horizontal socialization.
Combination of factors that allows the following types of political socialization was analyzed, namely:
harmonious, pluralistic, conflict, hegemonic and others. It is noted that in a society which is under
transformation, there is contradictory, spontaneous and uncoordinated and conflicting nature of
political socialization. In turn society creates political opportunities of self-identity and ensure stability
of operation. But in a transforming society political socialization of the individual is of contradictory
and sometimes conflicting nature.
