An empirical study of sociopsychological determinants of anxiety in children of younger school age

Abstract

The article studied empirically and quantitatively and qualitatively substantiated the results of the study. In the process of studying the issue of anxiety younger students the focus of the scientists was concentrated on the following factors as social situation of child development, particularly his relationship with his parents and the specificity of the interaction of teachers with the anxious child in the process of implementation of the various activities. That is, anxiety caused by socio-psychological determinants. An empirical study of socio-psychological determinants of anxiety younger students was carried out in the following aspects: first, is the direct study of sociopsychological determinants of occurrence of anxiety in the early school years; second is the study of parental relationship (constructive and destructive); thirdly the determination of the levels of anxiety (high, medium, low) according to the factor that causes anxiety. The primary determinants of children’s anxiety are: school fears (checking homework, the answer at the blackboard, interview with teacher, etc.) and family (family upbringing, the expectations of adults do not match the capabilities of the child, the authoritarian style of behavior of parents and the like). An important factor is self-esteem. Children with low self-esteem are more prone to other manifestations of anxiety. Anxiety, as a problem of age and pedagogical psychology, demands a scientific substantiation of features of origin and secure the younger children. A study of anxiety of younger students is extremely important in connection with the issue of emotionalpersonal development of children, preservation of their health. The problem of anxiety younger students is of great interest for psychological science, especially in the experimental plan, because its
development is extremely relevant and important to resolve a number of issues of educational practice,
particularly associated with the successful adaptation of the child to the school and prevent her neurotic
manifestations.
